COURSE INFORMATION SHEET 15: Media and Film
What is Media and Film?
Media and film courses help you develop the skills and knowledge that are used in the creative and communication industries. It will involve processing information and ideas and putting them into print, film, video or webs.
What qualities will I need?
You will need to be creative, have ideas and the determination to work hard to present them in an exciting way. Communication skills are essential to be able to express and develop your ideas. You will need to be able to develop the skills to work with (sometimes) complex technology, including cameras and computer softaware
What will I need to wear?
Normal school wear will be appropriate for most activities but you could find yourself outside filming in nasty weather!
What range of courses are available?
Through the TVC there is a Level 3 course that will help you to progress to higher education. The Art and Design courses will also include some work in digital recording and manipulating images with computers. Have a look at those too.
What opportunities will this course open for me?
Most Media students will continue through Further Education and on to Higher Education before entering employment.
