What is a leader?


Leaders are the decision makers in life. They are the people who are at the front when organisation is needed. They understand problems quickly, see solutions and direct the action. Leaders are needed in all areas of life but these courses focus on preparation for the armed forces or civilian services (police, fire brigade, ambulance, coast guard).

What qualities will I need?
You will need good communication skills and confidence in your abilities. Personal organisation is important but above all you must be able to develop reliability and responsibility. Being calm in an emergency is a skill you will need to developm

What will I need to wear?
You will be working in a variety of situations. There may be occasions when you are working out of doors, at times in the cold and wet on survival or navigation exercises. You will be helped to get fit and sports wear will be required at times. On other occasions you will he helping to provide directions at formal events You must be free to work in these situations but look responsible.

What range of courses are available?
Through TVC training provider there are:

  • Level 2 Courses that are introductions to this sectir and help build the skills and fitness

  • Level 3 courses that could provide access to higher education.

What opportunities will this course open for me?
Most students progress to employment in the armed forces or civilian services. Many progress through Higher Education.
