Attendance has been identified as one of the most important factors in learner success on a TVC programme. Our young people will only progress and achieve if they attend training regularly.
Both Training Providers and School/College Co-ordinators must play a part in encouraging regular attendance. Each has a different role to play but communication and co-operation between both parties is essential to support the learners appropriately.
The Training Provider Role
To report lateness and absences accurately and promptly using i-Plymouth
Schools can only support learners effectively if they have current and accurate information. Posting a cause for concern message to the school is not a punitive action - it is a caring and positive one. Please use these as frequently as necessary.
Report exceptional progress or occasions/action which will give schools opportunity to praise and reward learners.
School/College Co-ordinator Role
To collect, collate and record reports.
Investigate absences, and where appropriate implement strategies to improve attendance and punctuality.
Report concerns to parents.
Share appropriate information with the Training Provider that results from investigations into absence, lateness or cause for concerns and is necessary to the continued support of the learner.
