TVCCourses and Qualifications

(From September 2009)

QCF - TVC courses offered from September 2010 will be from the Qualifications and Credit Framework. The only exceptions are those courses for which a QCF replacement has yet to be approved and the expiry date has been extended to encompass this year. The TVC catalogue has been published and distributed to partners and will be uploaded on to this site shortly.

March 2010

Please note:  While every effort is made to ensure the accuracy of this information, courses are sometimes added or cancelled at short notice. Some courses require a minimum number of learners to run. Please speak to your TVC Co-ordinator or the TVC Office Contacting the TVC to check course availability

Further information on each qualification can be found on the TVC Course Information Sheets page (or the TVC Administration CD issued to all TVC partners in January each year).

Additional course details can be found on the QCA web site www.accreditedqualifications.org.uk. Type the qualification number (listed) into the search engine on this site. Full specifications can be found on the awarding bodies web sites.

Courses may be for 1 or 2 years. Please check with your school/college TVC co-ordinator for additional details. Some 2 year courses have dual qualifications and entry to the second year may be restricted to those who have completed the first year successfully. To access entitled funding it is important that learners are registered for the correct qualification each year.

Funding TVC Courses   All post 16 courses provided through the TVC are on the Section 96 list and are eligible for LSC funding.  Course costs are within the LSC Formula Funding rates in most cases, but a few are more expensive. Where we know that this is the case the courses are marked by a different colour and an asterisk*. If in doubt please contact the TVC office for updated information. The TVC Catalogue of course costs are only available to Consortium partners. You can check the funding for a qualification by using the following formulae:

Take the SLN funding for your school X GLH/450 X subject weighting.

'Performance points' are now available for most Level 1 courses with some at Level 2 and 3. These have been added to the tables below when they are known. Unfortunately many courses have to be recognised in this respect.
